Hi, my name is Matthias. I founded Enspire Books to publish works with the simple mission to inspire, uplift and transform lives. I believe in the power of storytelling, with books being one of the most essential tools to encourage, heal and connect. Through Enspire Books I like to share genuine narratives that spark hope, foster resilience, and remind people of their own ability to live freely.
My mission is to create a space where meaningful voices (both fictional and non-fictional) are cultivated into stories that speak to the reader's heart.
Knowing how daunting it can be to take the first step toward a dream or launch a business, I came up with the idea of creating a book series where people, who have stepped out of their comfort zones and into the unknown, share their journeys, offer inspiration and insight. With the Action Speaks Louder book series, my goal is to light the way for those still standing at the door, wondering if they're ready to step away from the known life, toward a new version of themself.
Here's a little extract from my story in the second volume of Action Speaks Louder.
During my apprenticeship to become an educator, I was elsewhere. I was writing, dreaming, and publishing my first book while others prepared for the final exam. My teenage years were built on a strong DIY ethos; playing in bands, organizing shows in squats, building a skate park, stitching together meaning from whatever we could find. I learned early that if you wanted something, you didn't wait. You got up. You started. Learn along the way. The people didn't get you. The government didn't get you. Sometimes not even your family and friends. And that was okay.
I grew up in the shadowed ruins of the recently fallen GDR. There was nothing waiting for us. If you sat still, if you waited for permission, you'd be waiting forever. The council didn't recognize the needs of the youth. Our parents were quietly struggling through the depression no one talks about, the one that came after the reunification. A country changed overnight. Factories shut down. Job titles and degrees dissolved. Mass unemployment swept in like an impenetrable fog. Immigration spiked. Frustration turned to anger. Anger became hatred. Political and social turmoil grew like weeds through the cracks of what was once stable. And yet, we made the best out of it by creating a life of meaning, a time full of authenticity, far from the polished safety of what was expected or the hatred that poisoned society's mind. We didn't wait for anyone's approval to create the life we wanted.
But somewhere along the way, I lost that younger version of myself...
